Led by Fi Newood – 20th January 2026
Self-harming behaviours are sadly becoming more common among young people in the UK — and fostered or adopted children are at even greater risk. As a parent or carer, it can be frightening, confusing, and heartbreaking to witness. Knowing how to respond can make a profound difference.
This course, led by psychotherapist Fi Newood, brings both professional expertise and lived experience. Fi has worked with children who self-harm and parented them, giving her a unique perspective on what truly helps — and what does not.
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of why young people self-harm, how it connects to trauma and attachment, and what you can do to offer support while also protecting your own wellbeing.
